Roof cleaning

Our Method
Roofs are only manufactured to withstand the pressure of heavy rainfall. Cedar and Asphalt roofs should never be cleaned with high pressure, this will almost certainly result in damage to the roofing materials and will leave lines on your roof. We use a low-pressure detergent process for roof cleaning.
With our system delivering less than 60 psi, the pressure is no stronger than a garden hose. We will scrub any thick growth off the roof then we apply a detergent to kill the organic material. This is the industry-leading standard for cleaning roofs and what insurance companies expect if they require you to get your roof cleaned.

When To Clean Your Roof
You may notice things like black streaks, moss, and lichen growing on your roof. Although the black streaks are more of an aesthetic issue, over time that mildew will turn into moss and lichen which can cause damage and even premature roof failure. Although mildew is more of an aesthetic issue, catching the growth early is a much more cost-effective way to keep up with the maintenance of your roof. We also have a variety of products to remove unsightly stains such as creosote, calcium leaching, and rust.

The Time It takes to Clean Your Roof Will Vary
While most roof applications take a couple of hours, the time it takes for your roof to be clean varies. If mildew is present on your roof, this will almost always be removed immediately. Heavier organics such as moss and lichen will need recurring rainstorms to be removed. This process may take a few weeks to several months. When we leave your property, all organic material will be treated and killed, ensuring no further growth.
Roof Cleaning Cost
There are many different variables when it comes to how much it will cost to get your roof cleaned. The materials, the size of the roof, and how much organic material is growing are all factors. Roof cleaning does require special equipment and training. Contact us for a free no obligation quote today!

What to Expect When Scheduling Your Roof Clean
When we arrive to clean your roof, we will start by thoroughly rinsing the grass and gardens where detergents may drip. We will scrub any large organic growth off by hand and leaf blow any loose growth off. We then apply a proprietary blend of products to cover the roof evenly.
This will stay on your roof until the next rainstorm washes the detergent away. Leaving the detergent on will not cause any damage or discoloration to the shingles but will allow the detergent more time to kill organic growth. The rain will dilute the detergent, ensuring no plant life is burned in the process.
We understand people are busy these days. If you’re not able to be at home during the cleaning process, that is not a problem. We ask that all doors and windows are tightly shut and we have access to an outside spigot.
